Information We Collect
When you activate the extension on a supported product page (such as Amazon, Target, Walmart, or Best Buy) the extension script reads the following non-personal information from the page:
- Product identifier (ASIN, TCIN, SKU, or UPC)
- Product title and current price
- Product page URL
This information relates only to the product being viewed and is not linked to you or your account.
How We Use Information
The product information is securely sent to the PriceCheck backend (hosted on Neon infrastructure) to match the same item at other retailers and return comparison prices. A limited product-level record (store, product ID, price, and timestamp) may be saved to build public price history data. This information is never tied to an individual user.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties. Data is used solely to provide accurate price comparison results and maintain price history analytics.
Security
All communication between the extension and our server uses HTTPS encryption. Access to backend data is limited to authorized system administrators for debugging and maintenance purposes only.
Your Control
You can disable or remove the PriceCheck extension at any time from your browser’s settings. The extension only activates on supported product pages when you manually click the icon.
